Goldfish

Do you know the expression “Give them a finger, and they’ll take the whole hand”? Well that’s what we are doing with our planet! Nature provides, we take, no questions asked. Until when? This problem of human greed and stupidity is similarly represented, only with other tools of expression, in Alexander Pushkin`s poem “The Tale Of The Fisherman And The Fish”. If you don`t know the story, there was a fisherman who catches a goldfish. For releasing the fish, the fisherman was granted a wish, witch at first he refuses, only to return later under the influence of his wife`s greed. Every time the fisherman came to ask the fish for another wish, the sea was more and more stormy. Every time the wish was granted, the thirst of the fisherman`s wife for power grew. Until the fisherman called the fish in the sea, but instead of giving, it took everything back. Been blinded by his insignificant needs he misses the clear signs that the line is fare crossed behind, he loses all gains and poor he remains. If you think that there is a similarity between this tale and real life, well you are awfully right because near future does not look very bright.
